… or, rather, reborn. Those who are familiar with the icelandic sagas know, that she is already thrice burned! But now she’s back in business: 14-18 October she will reside in Frankfurt, her shrine is prepared in stand 5.0 A48, during the worlds largest book fair. Her scribe will also be there of course, for WhoCanEscapeWhatHeDesires (Instagram)? Magnus Stenlund har spent 10 000 hours putting together a synthesis of archeological finds, modern historical science records and above all, the testemony of the old norse sagas. The result is The Great Great Saga, with a solid fundament in nordic iron age – this is a dark tale which could actually also be a true story. This fiction takes place in a world much resembling Tolkien’s, and for some, ”epic fantasy” will suffice to describe it. But for those who wants to dig deeper, this is a bottomless abyss of leads and clues about germanic iron age. There is no lecturing here, nevertheless the riddle of runes, the magic in primal fires, in rings and swords, and the true origin of the ancient gods are just a few of the bricks needed for Yngve and Alva, the main characters, to place correctly in this mega puzzle, in order to reach the epilogue. This is about how myth, cult, gold artefacts and Time itself was used to win real power. A more than usually twisted love story is also entwined – a cult of a female dominatrix is involved and male subordination as the flip-side of the coin… Noa! A topic as forbidden today as ever then.

“There is much to recommend your work and the value of your research is clear, in the amount of historical detail that runs through the excerpt. I can see you've taken pains to build this historical period in a way that really comes alive for the reader… I admire your persistence - needed as a twelve volume saga won't get written without considerable stamina!”
